maximum files list of bparchive -f file.

hi all: I have a file with the filepath of over 4millions files. When I issue bparchive -p "policy name" -s "schedule name" -k "string to facilitate searching/id the bkp" -L logilepath -f filename on my solaris 10 box. the bparchive takes its time to return the prompt; but there is nothing on the activity monitor nor the logfile, there is not error messages either. I'm using NBU 6.0 MP7 (yes that old version) but I wonder what is the maximum for the list file (the file with the filepaths). 100K lines, 1 M lines??? Thanks a lot.

    TECH37649 lists the capabilities and limits of NetBackup regarding file and backup sizes:

    NetBackup 6.0 and 6.x maximum sizes per backup
    Backup Size:       4 billion terabytes or 4 zettabytes (ZB)
    File Size:        64 terabytes
    File System Size:  4 billion terabytes or 4 zettabytes (ZB)
    (per backup)
    Number of Files:   2 billion

     Also when your asking the client to count and respond with that kind of file count you might want to increase the client read and client connect time out just incase

    If Unix what does:  echo $?     show?

    If Windows what does:  echo %errorlevel%    show?

    If you'd said 4 billion files, I would have started thinking 2^32 and a bug...

    ...but instead this springs to mind:

    Does it always, or nearly always, take exactly, or nearly the same amount of time to time out?
