NBU7 & Lotus Notes Single Instance Storage

Would I be correct in assuming that upgrading Lotus Notes and enable Single Instance Storage  the data quantities that I backup using the Lotus Notes agent backups  is not going to change.

Even though there's data reduction with Lotus notes by only have one instance of an attachment with all the mails having pointers to the single copy of the attachment at backup time the pointers aren't backed but rather the object they point to is.    Is this correct?

The only way to actually used single instance storage and netbackup will probably involve enterprise vault.

  • Enable single instance backup for message attachments is only available for Exchange (Host Properties -> Client -> Windows Client). SIS backup is not available for Lotus Notes.
