NDMP backup with Data Domain

Configuring Netbackup with Data domain, and want to take volume based backup through netapp storage via NDMP.I have few queries regarding configuration:-

1) Can we use OST to take NDMP backup with DDBOOST , Does it required any extra configuration on netbackup level ?

Do we required to mount Data Domain  as mount point on netbackup OS level ?

Can we used NDMP local backup  ?

2) If we configure VTL can we directly visible virtual tape drives to Netapp storage to use NDMP local backup through zoning ?

Which is the best way to take NDMP backup on data domain and externalized to Physical tapes OST or VTL ?

Thanks

    Two options.

VTL and NDMP backup. You'll crealte a VTL and assign the drives (and robot if not configured on any other server) to the NDMP filer. You'll use the NDMP policy type. Data travels across FC to the DataDomain VTL

DDBoost and CIFS/NAS backup. You install DDboost on a media server, configure the required boost device, storage server, disk pool etc. You'll mount the CIFS/NAS share from the Filer on the media server. You use a windows/standard backup policy to perform the backup (select Accelerator option as well).
