NetBackup Client for El Capitan (Mac OS X 10.11)

We really need a working client for Mac OS X 10.11

The provided solution in which we "disable" the security is not a good solution.

Veritas just needs to put the binary in the good (writeable) directory.

  • Here's a possibly slightly related question for our Unix froods out there...

I've read elsewhere that the client installer script can be made to use an alternate location for staging kits by first exporting NB_TMPDIR.

My question is... Is there another different export/variable that can be used to dictate where to actually install the client, e.g. maybe something like:  NB_INSTALL_DIR perhaps?

  • Can you create a symbolic link to the "good" directory ? have seen that solution used on other Unix flavors

Could you elaborate on the "disable" secutiy bit ? can see nothing about disabling security in either install guide or SCL, but then the SCL only goes to 10.10 Yosemite

  • Michael, FYI - the problem is described here:

  • No reply to attempts to help you?

If you want Veritas to change installation method, you will need to submit a formal Product Enhancement Request via your local Veritas office.

  • Good point. In all honesty, the 'NBU future plans' URL was pointed out in this forum some time last year : https://sort.veritas.com/nbufutureplans
  • There's a few other OS variants due for last version support:
