NetBackup Flex Appliance Tape Library

Do we need to install the tape library drivers on the netbackup flex appliance to be able to discover it ?

They are connected together through a SAN switch and they are zoned together.

The tape library version is a HPE MSL 2024

    no you do not need to install anything.

    The steps are

    • do the zoning
    • connect to the flex UI
    • go to Fiber Channel interfaces
    • run a scan to both ports.
    • configure the ports for tape
    • configure netbackup the usual way.

      in addition to what StefanosM has listed.... 

      * map the discovered tape drives to Media Server Instance. This may need media server instance to stop/start

      * Finally configure the tape drive in NetBackup usual way.
