master server : solaris10

media server : linux

agent : solaris 10 /oracle 10g

  • Check comms between Oracle Client and the Master.

    Check forward and reverse lookup in both directions with bpclntcmd:
    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH27430 
    Ensure that resolved hostnames (as per the TN) match EXACTLY in Client tab in policy and in SERVER entry on the client.

    Ensure port 1556 is open in both directions between master and client and that OS firewall is disabled on the client (iptables on Linux).

     

    If all of the above are fine, increase CLIENT_CONNECT_TIMEOUT and CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT on master and media server to 1800.

    i change CLIENT_CONNECT_TIMEOUT and CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT on master and media server to 1800.

    but firwall is disable and i use a Private Network in may palatforme (master  media and clients ), I used the same ip range.

  • Looks to me as a ressource issue, as the archive backups starts at 22:00 and fails at 00:27. In my experience archive backup does not take that long unless you have a ressource issue

    this server contain 4 instances DB Oracle 10 g.

    i think i have a ressource problem but i   dont had  no confirmed.

    What happened on NBU side?

    Was job queued or active in Activity Monitor?

    What is listed in Details tab?
