Is it ok to restart device manager services while there is an active job is running and drive is in writing mode? in one word is it ok to restart it when the jobs are running?
You can only restart Device Management service when NO tape drives are in use.
You will receive an error if you try and Device Manager will not restart.
Any specific reason why you want to restart while a job is running?
i wanted to configure (actually add path) for the drives some NDMP paths. they are shared drives and is it ok if i will do configuration when there is jobs are running.
Another point is when we will make any chages to device manager it asks to restart the service, will it impact for other drives and jobs?
