  • "Server Status:  The robotic library is not available"

Are normal filesystem backups working for this client?

Are other backups working for the STU specified in the policy?

You need all of these logs to troubleshoot database agent backups:

On client: dbclient   (remember to 'chmod 777 dbclient' after creating folder).

On master: bprd (restart NBU Request Service after creating folder)

On media server: bptm and bpbrm

  • Thank you Marianne for your reply,

Are normal filesystem backups working for this client?

yes, the backup for the files system is working normally.

Are other backups working for the STU specified in the policy?

No, the server is working alone for this policy.

On client: dbclient (remember to 'chmod 777 dbclient' after creating folder)

i have create the dbclient, but are bpbkar is not useful for this case

i will reply you the logs file, thank you again ...

  • bpbkar will only log filesystem backups.

dbclient log is needed for rman backup. See Troubleshooting section of NBU for Oracle Admin Guide for UNIX, Windows, and Linux  http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC3672 .

In this instance the problem seems to be on the media server with the robot or the way the storage unit is created.

About the Storage Unit (STU) for this policy - have you created a dedicated STU for this policy? No other policies using this STU?

  • Recommended Action: Verify that the robot that is required by jobs is properly configured. If the error persists, the following logs may be useful in understanding the problem : The mds unified logging files (OID 143) from the master server at debug level 2.

  • Thank you Marianne,

Sure there are many policies use the same STU and work normally, and i use the same media server for different servers and work noramlly too.

thank you for your explanation about the logs file, i have it, and realy that was useful.

i trying till now to solve the problem, and i will provide the logs in other replay.

    Thank You All ...
