Upgrading to Netbackup v9.x

Hello

We are currently running netbackup 8.2 one master/media in a redhat linux environment.  We are looking to upgrade and I was wondering what version of 9 should we upgrade to. Any recommendations.?   Another words has there been a lot of issues that anyone is aware of with the v9.1 or 9.1.0.1 versions or even the 9.0 versions.?   

Main reason for or upgrade is to address a vulnerability with "SSL certificates signed using weak hashing algorithms ".  We have netbackup manage certificates and dont use ECA.  Supposedly support said that this vulnerability is addressed in v8.3 but since version 9x is out there we are thinking we should just jump to one of the version 9x

    IMHO, I'd go to the highest version you can. 

    There should be nothing stopping you from upgrading to 9.1.0.1 - the only things to be conscious of is supportablity issues with any older clients you have and the RHEL OS version of your current. Sort is your friend here - https://sort.veritas.com to check these various compatibilities and also the compatibility lists found here https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000033647 

    But based on your current version I wouldn't expect anything preventing you upgrading to 9.1.x

      Thanks David for your input -  

      most of our clients (windows,linux, MS SQL) are at version 8.2 except maybe a few still on 8.1.1

        Go for 9.1.0.1! 

        Windows 2008 clients won't be able to get up to that, but you can still connect and backup 8.x clients.
