  • 6.5 is not supported anymore. My experience has been that if your master/media is on a supported version but your client is not, you can still open a case and do some troubleshooting with Veritas but if it apperas  the issue is possibly on the client side they will ask you to upgrade the client before doing any further work on the case.

You can find the OS/Product Support matrix (SORT) here: https://sort.veritas.com/productmatrix/show/NetBackup

and the EOSL dates for each netbackup version are here: https://sort.veritas.com/eosl/show_matrix

You will get help from support however this cannot go as engineering escalation if issue requires engineering to fix it

  • there is some extended support avaliable for netbackup porducts which are general out of support(end of life cycle) with additions cost., if you still would like to cover 6.5 under support you can contact Veritas to check if you can get the support for 6.5 with additional cost..(as for now i am not sure if 6.5 is still in the list of extended support list)

in general i would suggest to upgrade the clients equivalent to master and media versions..

  • Version support is documented in Release Notes of the relevant NBU version documentation. If your OS version is only supported up to NBU 6.5, then it probably means that the OS is also no longer supported by OS vendor, right?
  • All extended support for NBU 6.5 has now ended. On other words - if you have NBU 6.5 you are all alone.

There is also a clear indication Veritas is removing support for NBU 6.5

From the 7.6.1.x release note :

Starting with version 7.6.1, NetBackup OpsCenter no longer supports NetBackup 6.x.

Why do you need a NBU 6.5, do you have 32bit Linux client around ?
