vm hostname

Hello,

My server display IP adress instead of VM hostname. How can I correct this ?

DNS name resolution is OK.

  • Specifies the type of name by which NetBackup recognizes a virtual machine.

The network host name for the virtual machine. (This option

is the default.) NetBackup obtains the host name by means

of a reverse lookup on the virtual machine's IP address. If

no host name can be found, the IP address is used as the

    host name.

  • Change the Client Name Selection option under the Snapshot Client Options in the policy.

Open NBU VMware policy - In the snapshot client box click Options -> "Client Name Option"

The "Client Name Option" dropdown let you select "VM host name" , "VM display name" , "VM UUID" or VM DNS name.
