Volume Pool-Clarity

Hi all,

I know the default volume pools on NBU are,

None,Datastore,Netbackup and scratch pools.

Kindly explain me difference & use of each pool.

7.1.x and Earlier
Backup and Recovery
NetBackup
Not Applicable

    do you have any idea about cleaning cartridges... if yes.. None pool purpose should be understandable..

    None pool is for cleaning tapes.. and regular backup jobs  would not pick the tapes form none Volume pool.. 

    its for easy management of data tapes and cleaning tapes..

    Netbackup pool is for default pool for all backup related tapes... which can be customized later..

    means all the data tapes moved to Netbackup pool when you run the inventory ...

    Hi,

    None--All the cleaning cartridges should be in None pool.

    Netbackup--All the new volumes initially it moves to Netbackup pool.

     

    Still some sort of confustion about these None and Netbackup pool. Can anyone please clarify me with an example if possible.
