The only solution I have found for this is to recreate the backups again. I have opened up cases with Symantec on this issue on a couple of our servers and it is always the same.
Collect and send logs
Stop BESR Services
Delete History and Schedule files
Recreate backups.
Case closed
a month later, same issue. The symantec support is reluctant to keep the case open for more than a couple of days.
