Exchange Differential Size

Our weekly full backup of Exchange 5.5 is about 20GB. The differential which is run daily is always at least 2GB and increases at about 100MB a day.
Even if the differential backup is run shortly after the full backup it's still at least 2GB. Would you expect this?

All circular logging is disabled and the Exchange server backup method is Differential - Logs, and the mailbox backup is set to Differential - back up changed messages.

    Hello,

    In this case, the differential backup should usually not take long. Refer to the following technote which might help resolve the issue:

    Title: When running a Differential or Incremental backup job, all files are backed up as if a Full Backup was run

    If the issue persists, try the same backup using NT backup and test the results. Do update on the same.
