MMS servers can't run scheduled jobs when CAS is not available

Has anyone experienced this problem with managed servers stopped when CAS server is down or its SQL DB instance isn't running? Is there a way to setup DB replication between CAS and local to MMS instances? Or, there is another solution?

  • I'm afraid that there is no way to set up any replication between the servers.  If the CAS is not online or if the SQL instance is down, the jobs will not run.  The only thing that you could really do is set the servers to stand-alone and manage each server using the Backup Exec remote administration console.

  • Steve,
thanks for your reply, but is there a mismatch between it and CAS whitepaper?:

    Resilency

    Disconnected managed media server

To reduce network traffic, or if there is no persistent network connection with the CAS, managed

media servers can be configured to operate independently from the CAS while maintaining a level

of centralization. This is ideal for remote branch offices where network connectivity may be

intermittent. Disconnected managed media servers can receive copied jobs from the CAS and be

monitored and reported by the CAS.

How can this feature be configured in real life?
