Good morning,I have went though archive and did a posting before however, the answers didn't help my situation.SBS2003 PE, Backup Exec 9.1, the email notifications had been working fine for months/years, with hiccup at times. This time, it just had not been sending at all for over 2 weeks. I have sent test message to various receiptients, all received the test message without problem but just not getting the actual one. Then I have recreated the job. I have deselected and reselected the email notifications. None of the above work when the job finished and again, not having problem in sending test message. I have check the alerts message on Backup Exec, I have checked on the Event Views, non give any clue as to what might go wrong. What I am not doing right ?

The test that works, are you logged onto the media server as yourself or as the BaclupExec Service Account?

I logon to the server as administrator which is also used in the Backup Exec service account as far as I know.

Is your e-mail server running normally when the backup jobs run?

Morning Alex,Yes, the mail server has no problem. I am able to get email notification from server. Morning,

Just an update.

Hi there,

Since I did my first posting, I had jobs which were sucessful as well as failure but the email notification didn't come through. However on Monday which was a public holidays and of course no one in the office to put the tape in and the backup failed and I received a notification of its failure. Again yesterday (Tuesday) there was a tape in and backup was succesful but did NOT receive any notification.

I found what happen is very brizzar. Anyone would throw any light on this ?

i'm having a similar problem, except that the test notifications doesn't work either. It worked fine before, nothing in the network has changed as far as the email server is concerned. the notifications stopped working all of a sudden and never worked sinced. it's been about a month now. I've done many google searches but couldn't find anything on this. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

That is what baffled me. Nothing had changed on the server. Have tried all solutions that work for others but just not work for me. With the odd notification sent on Monday and not days before and after. Just bizzard.

I'm having the exact same issue. I upgraded from 10.0 to 11D, after doing so, I do not get any of the "real" notifications after the backups complete. I can send test messages just fine, and have done a bunch of the troubleshooting steps Smiley tried (deselecting recipients, creating a new job etc), still no joy.

Smiley, did you find a solution to this problem? Still no moderator input on this?
