Operations Manager install

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have discovered something very interesting about the EVOM installs.  If OM is installed when EV is installed, it works without a problem.  But, if it is added after the fact (re-running the setup.exe to add it), the installer does NOT add the default.aspx document to the 'Documents' tab in the properties of the MonitoringWebApp directory in IIS.  I chased the problem for many hours until I discovered this.  Once I added default.aspx to the document list and moved it to the top, EVOM came up perfectly.  And, forget about using the "manual install" command syntax from the Troubleshooting Operations Manager document, because it does not work correctly.  Just an FYI...

  • Spencer,

I would totally agree on the install comments for the standalone setup wizard install approach, don't forget to mention that remote access only via IP.
