This is a sample of the error message. When I look at his mailbox, I see these in use items in his deleted mail folder. I don't know why backupexec states they are in use? I'm sure my backups are still valid, I just don't like seeing the failed message every morning....any suggestions? thanks Backup - \\EX01\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes The item \\EX01\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes\Tania Daran [tdaran]?Top of Information Store?Inbox????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Microsoft Office 2007 ready to download in use - skipped. Top of Information Store Sync Issues Server Failures Undeliverable Using backupexec 9.1 and getting this error every night WARNING: "\\EX01\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes\Simon James [SJames]Top of Information Store Sync Issues Server Failures Undeliverable: November 76% OFF" is a corrupt file. This file cannot verify. I went to this user's mailbox and could not find message in any of the folders. how do I resolve this issue? Thanks only one .bkf file This may sound like a novice question but how doI get backupexec to create just one .bkf file for each job submitted. Currently I get about 6-8 .bkf filesof various sizes whenI run my nightly backup of about 30GB of data in total. I would like to see one 30gb .bkf file if possible. I backup to removable hard drives that are 120gb in size. I have played around with these settings: maximum size for backup-to-disk file: 120gb maximum number of backup sets per backup-to-disk file: 1 any help would be appreciated. thanks, John backups taking 2-3 times longer then normal We are running differential backups every night and a full backup on saturday night. Backing up to scsi tape drive and full usually takes 15hours for 120gb. Now, as of the last few days, the backups (full and incremental)are taking 2-3 times as long.Backupsrun locally on an exchange server2003 (win2003 box)and starts by backing up the mailboxes and public folders, then it backs up files on the DC server and then a File server. It currently is taking hours on the exchange public folders backup which is less then a 1gb of data. I am now watching it carefully to see if it is just an issue with the public folders. We are running etrust CA antivirus software. any suggestions? backup system drive? I'm getting conflicting info. one book says to backup everything C: (system) and D: (exchange drive) completely along with system state info at least once a week. Another source says that it is not important to backup the C: drive because it is better to rebuild a server from scratch at that point. I currently only backup my data drives, system state, information stores, mailboxes. Do you bakup your C: and D: drives completely? how is backupexec able to backup the C: drive when so many files are in use (services, etc...)? how would I even go about restoring the C: drive if my system crashed and I was unble to use backupexec? Thanks many .bkf files when I only want to see one Backupexec 9.1. I have a daily backup job that has its attributes: when this job begins: overwrite media, no appends. I also have the media set properties overwrite protection set to none under device properties: max. size for backup-to-disk files is set to 100gb max. number of backup sets (.bkf files) per backup-to-disk file is set to 1 I formatted my backup destination disk clean and run this job and it created 7 different .bkf files ranging in all sizes ( 23gb, 2gb, .5gb, etc...) all i want to see is one .bkf(roughly 30gb) a day. And then that .bkf file will be overwritten next week when that drive is used again. why is this not happening? what am I missing? Thanks Re: backupex skipping quickbooks filefound these 2 solutions: 1)We had this exact same error. It came from Backup Exec 9. Backup Exec 9 (at least here) uses MSDE as a local data store. When it tried to back up it's own local database, that's when we got these messsages. Turning off the SQL Backup Agent solved it. 2)http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/266649.htm To resolve this, create a directory named backup under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$BKUPEXEC\.service pack 5version 9.1 4691 is what it said was installed before I applied sp5 and after the reboot it still said version 9.1 4691, with no mention of sp5 installed. is there a place where i can see this? thanksRe: backupex skipping quickbooks filethe reboot took care of the lock on that file. I tried the recommndation of manually closing the session but there was no session to close, so there must of been some hidden lock on the file. I could not even manually make a copy of the file until after the reboot. I wonder if there is any way to see what has got a hold of a file in these circumstances??? still having the event id 17055 I/O error on backup or restore restart-checkpoint file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$BKUPEXEC\backup\master4IDR.ckp' don't know how serious it is? if anybody has an idea then let me know thanksRe: backupex skipping quickbooks fileI am planning on a reboot tomorrow, i also see this error in the event log/application as well: hopefully a reboot will clear both up. any thoughts are welcomed...
