NetBackup Exclude List
Hi I have 4 different servers on which symantec net backup is installed . I need to exclude *.trnfrom all these four netbackup client properties. Now i do not want to manually enter all these servers and exclude those from the list individually. can i do it using one server only for all 4 servers?

manual backups not working with nbac user(NBU_Operator group user) after configuration nbac

Netbackup exluding many folders form backup
Hello Team, Thanks in advance for all your help. I have Netbackup server and from it we are taking file server backup. During restoring of files, we found many files and folders are not backuped up with Netbackup. After analyzing, I found issue with NTFS permission. I have one Security groups which dont have access to that folders which I have used for backup. Now thing is I have many file servers and I dont have any details on which folder this group dont have permission. So looking for detailed backup report from Netbackup where files are folder are not included in backup due to permission issues. Please help on this. Regards, Yogesh Makwana

Should I use the same storage for OS part and Backup DB part?
We are trying to set up Linux server for the backup server, and are using NetApp storage for the both OS part and Backup data part. We have two different type of stroage both from NetApp. One is FAS which has a lot of storage based functions, and support NFS, SnopShots, DR replications.The other one is E-serieshas less functions and primarily for the backup data images. Should I seperate OS and Data part , one on FAS, and the other on E, or does that matter. Thanks!

netbackup 7.5.0.7 causing high cpu during sql backup
We have several 2003 and 2008 servers running netbackup 7.5.0.7 and when netbackup tries to backup SQL dbs it causes extreme CPU spikes. We had this same issue with 7.5.0.6 but were able to get an EBB (3342502) patch that fixed it in that version but having since updated, the issue has returned. Anyone else having issues with CPU spikes and are aware of a fix for it? Thanks

Symantec NetBackup Encryption
1) If I'mis trying to move away from a Brocade Encryption Switch (BES) since it has been announced EOL, can NBU be used to unencrypt the tapes that were already encrypted with BES and then can NBU encrypt them again using different keys so that all these tapes' encryption keys can be migrated from BES to NBU (so BES can be removed completely eventually)? 2) If encryption is occurring at the tape drive by NBU KMS encryption, will there be backwards compatibility from LTO-7 to LTO-5 or LTO-4? 3) Would the unencryption of the tapes have to be done by the BES or NetApp DataFort (which the customer also has)?

Netbackups failing with error code 24 on linux clients
we are using net backup. till many days it was very much successful, but from 2 days the backups are failing with error code 24. socket write failed. can any one sugguest on the issue, what to do and how to resolve the issue.

Symantec Netbackup - Password
Hi, My query is related with symantec netbackup client services. Scenario: As per our system policies we need to change privledge users password periodically. and when ever we change our password backup scheduled in netbackup get failed even after confiquring new password inthe services of symantec netbackup in master server. Use a diferent BROWSECLIENT from SQLHOST
Good afternoon. I wonder if there is any solution to this problem: I have 3 SQL instances with different HOST's and I would always use the same BROWSECLIENT, ie all backups of all SQLHOST's would be stored in the same BROWSECLIENT. Is it possible? example: SQLHOST "Instance1" -> makes backup to BROWSECLIENT "VirtualMachine" SQLHOST "Instance2" -> makes backup to BROWSECLIENT "VirtualMachine" SQLHOST "Instance3" -> makes backup to BROWSECLIENT "VirtualMachine"
