Clearwell v8.1 Hardware Requirements
Hello. I am gathering the Clearwell upgrade requirements (upgrade from 7.1.5 to 8.1). I have two questions: 1) What are the hardware requirements for 8.1? We do not have a Clearwell applicance. 2) Do I have topurchase a license for Office 2013 or is it included with the Clearwell 8.1 software? Thank you.Solved2KViews0likes4CommentsNeed help with print or production to PDF of 1500+ documents in one package
Hi, our legal team needs to provide a hard copy package to a senior counsel for final review of documents before the case goes to court. We are being asked to print out 1500+ documents that have been reviewed/tagged in Clearwell. Here's the problem: -Using the Print function to PDFwithin Analysis & Review a) results in a massive file; b) does not incorporate embedded objects into the parent, such as logos and text which are broken outfrom an email messageto separate attachments; c) makes a mess of printing Excel spreadsheets, printing them across many pages; and d) prints out a lot of other information that is not required as extra sheets. - Using the Production export to PDF is much better as the file sizes are smaller, it handles embedded objects as part of the parent, and seems to do a better job of printing Excel spreadsheets. However Production export to PDF produces one PDF file for each document. As you can imagine, this will result in 1500 PDF files or more! I have contacted Symantec tech support and they haven't provided any other solution. I am surprised that this hasn't been requested already, it would seem to be a standard type of deliverable for Clearwell. Does anyone out there have a solution?Solved1.5KViews1like4CommentsNeed validation on deduplication of email msgs in Clearwell
I have our legal team questioning whether documents are getting deduplicated after several custodian evault containers are collected, then processed in Clearwell. An example is that there are two separate documents in the corpus even though they are the same email message. One appears as being a message from Custodian A's sent items - Custodian A is the sender. The second appears as a message in Custodian B's inbox - Custodian B is the recipient. In my mind, these are not identical therefore not deduplicated because one document is from a sender and the second document is from the recipient. Is this assumption correct? This is further complicated by the sender's email address being identified as username@internal_domain instead of username@<mycompanyname> .com. Does the interpretation of the email address impact whether these messages are identified as unique therefore not deduplicated?Solved1.1KViews0likes5CommentsClearwell Backup Best Practices
I know its probably taboo to post a quetsion like this and ask for information so many people arent willing to share (why I dont know), but I dont see why it hurst to ask. I am curious about best practices others are adhering to in backing up their cases/servers. Because of the current CW architecture, backups in my opinion are troublesome. Aside from random failures (i posted another topic about this) I have always found the process that is needed to fully backup and prepare for BR/DR to be very cumbersome with Clearwell. Do you agree? Hopefully v8 and the support of Virtualization will help this. But does anyone care to share how many days of backups they are keeping? Are you still doing node backups? And if so, why? Do you provide clients with specific terms&conditions about nightly backup windows, not allowing case/system access during certain times, and if not, how are youensuring you get nightly backups and dont miss them because of clients accessing cases? How do you workaround/decide/manage taking backups vs processing or OCR'ing data overnight? You see where I am going with all this. There are more questionsthan this that I havebeen grappling with Clearwell for years. These are topics I find to be in constant flux, requiring constant revision, because there just doesnt seem to be a very efficient way of protecting/backing up the CW environment. Dont you agree? I thank you in advance for anyone willing to share, as I would be willing to do so in return. I am happy to conduct individual discussions privately if anyone is interested. If my contact info is not available in this profile, please respond here and we can coordinate a better way of communicating.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsNew User to Clearwell and looking for someone to chat about how to use.
Title basically says it all. New to Clearwell, no training to speak of and was interested in chatting with folks that use it and would be willing to do a little hand holding. Version 7.1.1 and any info would be great.1.1KViews1like2CommentsPST collections
Is there a way, or will it be availble soon, to limit the collection of a PST to only those emails that are not responsive and not the entire PST? I have several collections where large PST files are collected (counting against the Processing license) and only a handful of emails (less than 10% of the size of the PSTs) are actually responsive to the search criteria. Thoughts?Solved1.1KViews0likes4CommentsClearwell tagging question for Predictive coding
We have a question on how PC (Predictive Coding) will handle the analysis if an email body is not privileged but one of the earlier/later replies or forwards is privileged... All messages are indexed (no derived emails) soI believe each email would then be tagged on its own merit, and the prediction will be based on each email and not on the entire thread. What are the thoughts on this from the community? Also, how would this be handled if some of the messages are derived? Thanks for any thoughts/comments.1KViews0likes5Comments
