Hi Everybody! I have 2 clusters A & B with a single node at each one ( I am using the components of VVR and GCO). So I am wonderabout thethe possibility of installing VCS 6.0 and SEPM 11(single server member of the cluster A), and install VCS 6.0 and SEP client mode 11in the other server (this server is member of cluster B). if so, what Ishouldtake care to avoid interference of each other? Hi We need to share a disk between a physical server and a Virtual server. My Proposed solution - use Storage Foundation to share the RDM disk between the physical and virtual server. However our VMware team are completely against using RDM's. They say it’s not best practice and can brake VMware. Is that true. Maybe there is a better way sharing a disk between physical and virtual servers? Hi, We want to install SFW HA 5.1 Sp2 on Windows 2008 R2 SP1 (x64, Full GUI version). I noticed only Windows 2008 R2 CORE is listed in the compatability matrix, but the full GUI version of W2K8 R2 is not for some reason... Can anybody at Symantec please confirm that I can install SFW HA 5.1 SP2 on Windows 2008 R2 SP1 (x64, Full GUI version) ??? Thank you in advance! We are considering options for clustering Windows (2k3R2, 2k8R2, X64) nodes that are actually VMware VMs (ESX 4.1). Is there documentation that describes setting this up, and what limitations might exist? For example, does usingcluster effectivelykill the ability to VMotion? Do you have to use RDMs for storage? Sorry for being vague, I don't know enough (yet) to ask targeted questions. Thanks in advance!Solved1.7KViews1like4CommentsSFW 5.1 & VMWare
Hello all, we are using SFW 5.1 SP1 with VM (running Win2K3 SP2 R2) supported by ESX3.5U5. These VM are clustered and share disks are RDM mirrored (using SFW) disk. their system disks are mirrored also (still using SFW) but stored as vmdk (datastore located on our SAN storage). We encounter random VM freeze: the VM can be pinged but it is impossible to connect on it (neither RDP nor VCMS console). Does any one encoutered such a case ? Regards, D. Hy I usethe Veritas Storage Foundation HA 5.1 for Windows and in this system's running a print cluster. When I add a new resource (printer) to the PrintShare, become an automatically comment/description name to the shared printer, BUT I want to use another name for it. If I modify a key in registry, get an error message, like when I try to modify the printer properties... How can I do that? Should I doing something in the cluster? Thanks the answers...
