Confused???
Hey, I have a small question... Today I did a comprehensive check for virus' and other threats on my computer. I decided to randomly look at what it's scanning and it said that it was searching stuff like Trojan.dls EliteKeyTracker.fjha and other things along that line (I had no idea what the letters after the period were). Do I have these on my computer...because I haven't done anything really to get these and if I do, shouldn't of Norton 360 blocked them? I am fully up to date with their software. It scanned right over it. That is going to really piss me off if I have those.1.2KViews0likes4CommentsWHATSNEW.TXT Top-ten List

This is an email I sent to a couple people listed under the Symantec Media contacts as there are is general Corporate contact information anywhere on the website (obivously by design). I putting this up both as a warning to other Symantec customers and also as I doubt it has reached the appropriate department in Symantec in email form. I’m receiving calls from a woman with a British accent, and a blocked phone number, claiming to be from Symantec. She knows I am a current customer, and proceeds to ask me questions regarding our current IT infrastructure. I’m going to assume this person does not work for Symantec, and the fact that they apparently have a list of your customers and are trying to get information on their current IT infrastructure should be of some concern as their intentions are unknown.1.1KViews1like8Commentshelp needed - How to remove w32.ramnit!html

How are you? Hopefully you're well. I just installed Norton 2011 Anti virus for my home computer. I did a complete scan and when I reviewed the results I noticed that I had a virus called Trojan.Malscript!html. My software told me that I had to remove it manually myself. I tried to do this, but every time I triedit told me that I didn't have the Admin. privileges. I'm the only user and I'm the Admin. on this computer. What should I do? What will this virus do to my computer? Thanks, DaveSolved949Views0likes3CommentsWindow Security Center
Recently on my PC, the Window Security Center is giving me an alert saying Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition might be out of date. However, I recently did a live update and have all the current virus protections downloaded and I recently ran a full scan and found no threats. Can anyone advise me why this Windows alert may be happening. Thanks.940Views0likes6CommentsNeed help Clarifying if this is a virus.
Hi, my antivirus is a Symantec Antivirus, corporate edition if i am not wrong. It came together pre-installed with the laptop that i bought from my school. Yesterday, i recieved an email with attachments from a friend of mine. I opened the attachments, not expecting that this was a spam auto send email from my friend's account. it contained a virus(or so i think). I opened up my antivirus and checked the risk history, and there were 4 files, 3 cleaned and 1 deleted. I went to the directory where the files are located and tried a manual delete. But this was not possible, i click properties to uncheck the "Read-Only" box, but the 3 files still could not be deleted. Appearantly the entire folder with the 3 files all have a permanent checked "Read-only" which prevents deletion. Attached are screen shots of the folder and the files. OK, here is the deal. Yesterday while troubleshooting something with Apple (iTunes), I was instructed to disable my Norton 360. When I enabled Norton, I noticed something "funny" about my computer performance. Next Spyware Protect 2009 popped up, and I was unable to reach internet sites. I ran Norton 360 and it found Packed.Generic.200. I researched for hours looking for an easy fix, no such luck. I turned off my pc and disconnected the internet and went to work this morning. Upon arriving home to try to "fix" it, I found that now my computer will not advance past the Windows XP startup screen. I was able to start the PC in safe mode (F8) method. Here I ran AVG per a request from a friend. AVG found and removed 15 files including several trojans. Hoping that this fixed everything, I tried to restart, but the computer will not advance past the sign on screen. I attempted to install Malwarebytes in safe mode but the install locks up at the end of the process. I was able to download AVAST and run it in safe mode. Upon starting it finds a virus and states that I have a virus in the operating memory, and asks to run in boot mode. I say yes. Upon completion, a menu pops up asking me to select 1-9 or press esc to exit. Unfortunately, my keyboard would not work so I had to power down the computer. Is this virus disabling my input devices so that I cannot remove it? I even tried an "old fashioned" keyboard (non usb) but that wouldn't work either. What do I do now? I'm extremely new at this, and have never experienced or troubleshot a virus before. I have many gigs of music and family photos on the pc that I don't want to lose. Any help would be greatly appreciated.826Views0likes2CommentsMaxthon Browser Review Required
I came across a browser called Maxthon sometime back. I use it for occasional browsing but I am still not confident in using it against my corporate webmail or banking websites because the servers that Maxthon uses are in China. Also the browser seems to be making a webservice call to the server on startup and periodically for general security updates. I would like to know if Symantec has a review about this tool and/or a Symantec expert could review the tool to see what information it actually passes from the desktop client to the server at intervals. The files of Maxthon themselves are clean and do not contain any infections of any type.824Views0likes5Comments
