Netbackup 6.5.6 – Synthetic Full Question

    If you look at the the Schedules tab of the policy, you will see that they are two separate schedule types - they will (both) run automatically if they have similar open windows.

    I cannot see how an 'if... else if....' can be done via the standard NBU scheduler.  Seems you will have to use an external scheduler with some scripting...

After we've done the traditional Full to wake it up again, the Synthetic Fulls then work for the next 4 weekends, then they stop again and we only get the daily Differential.

We also have a hundred or so non-Synthetic backup policies working perfectly well, but we changed these big ones to Synthetic as synthetics run a lot quicker (well, they would, no need plough through 2 million live files!).
