NIC Teaming Slow Throughput, any ideas?
Hey guys, We currently have 2Gig set up through NIC teaming for our backup exec setup. When we have backups running, it barely reaches 35-40% of the bandwith. I am using Backup Exec 2010. Has anyone else here set up NIC teaming before? What are some things that might cause slow performance? Are there any specific settings in Backup Exec that may help? Thanks!5.1KViews3likes9CommentsNeed I exit then join the domain while using SSR2013 to backup and restore my pc
When using SSR 2013 to backup and restore the domain PCs, is it need to exit domain before backup and join the domain after the PC is restored, or SSR 2013 only recover the system files and other folders, no change to the domain relationship? Thanks for your help!414Views3likes3CommentsIssues With Symantec Recovery Disk
Hi, I'm having serious problems with the symantec recovery disk. We are using Symantec System Recovery R2 Management Solution. PRevious to the R2 upgrade restores were tested using the downloaded recovery disk and everything worked fine now however I cant seem to get a test restore working. I'm trying to a test restore on a Dell Poweredge 2850 which is running Server 2008 R2. I've created so many recovery disks I'm going insane. The first issue I experienced was that the 64bit recovery disk would not boot this server after testing this disk on other servers I logged a call with Symantec who got me to test the disk on a PC and it worked... So I tried the 32bit disk and it boots properly andf I am able to get to the recovery utility. So now the main issue I am experiencing is that when I try to do the restore the target drive is always coming us as Invalid. At first I assumed thta this was because I had created the recovery disk on our management solution server which is a VM so the disk didnt contain the relevant drivers for the server so I went to the server and tried to edit the ISO, but because the server is running a 64 bit OS I cant edit the 32bit recovery disk ISO... I tried editing the 64bit ISO, but that still wont boot. So next I installed a full version of Symantec system recovery on a Windows 8.1 PC with a different license meaning I didnt have to create the recover disk through the management solution. Once again only the 32bit disk would boot the server and once again the target drive location comes up as invalid when I try to do the restore. This time I ran the driver validation tool on the server and it came back as all drivers installed, but I still cant do a restore. I still cant edit the iso because its a 64 bit server and 32bit ISO. I've tried adding in the perc 4 raid driver once in the restore environment and that doesnt work. So now I'm stuck, I cant work out if the problem is driver related, or because the server is built using MBR, but the restore file location is saved on a volume that is GPT.2.2KViews2likes21CommentsDoes More than one Techn work at Symantec?????

Hya folks! Setup: BackupExec 2012 running on SBS 2011. Storage device is a 1GB drive plugged into a Stardom with a secondary disk that we manually swap and take offsite every week (actually, a collection of four such drives that we swap in series). This gives us backups going back four weeks. We want to restore a mailbox from three weeks ago. I've pulled the oldest RAID 1 diskout of rotation, mounted it in a usb enclosure, and shared it over the network. I am, however, not very familiar with how Backup Exec's manages storage devices and I am having trouble creating a Restore job from this network disk. Can someone please walk me through the process to create a Restore job from a network share for an old backup set? Part of the problem may be that the disk has the same identity as the active storage drive. I tried adding the network share in storage via the menu: Storage | Configure Storage | Disk-Based Storage | Disk Storage | ... Error message: "The disk storage device [PrimaryStorageDiskName]was found at the specified path. It is already a device on [ServerName] and cannot be added as a shared device." I'm sure it's a relatively trivial process, and my inexperience is the only major barrier. Much thanks!1.9KViews1like9CommentsSymantec System Recovery 2011: Error EC8F17B7: Error EC8F03ED: Error E7D10041: Error EBAB03F1
I have a problem with my SSR 2011 server/client setup. I have a total of 12 computers that are supposed to be backing up to my SSR server. At the moment only two of them are backing up. Yet the SSR server is reporting that3 are backed up. One of the 12 computers, I know for a fact that the SSR 2011 Client and the Altiris Agent installed on it, the server is reporting that the SSR 2011 client is not installed and is also not backing up. The remaining computers are all sending errors back to the server every night. Here is one of the emails I get every night when the backup job kicks off. Date: 4/2/2014 23:37:32 PM Notification Type: Error Priority: High Description: Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Backup of All Drives.
