How to update Backup Exec Remote Agent For Windows System_
Hi all! I'm excperiencing connecting problems during night becakup to random clients - V-79-57344-65072 "the connection to target system has been lost". I've checked Backup Exec RAWS version at media server as well as on all remote systems - it's 13.0.5204.109. The Backup Exec RAWS version on the media serverin newer than enywhere else - it's 13.0.5204.114. In order to try to resolve this issue I want to update agents first. Is it possible to do it automaticly? I recently installed Backup Exec 15 on a server with Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard. After a batch of Windows Updates, BE stopped working. Initially, I tried doing a repair; it failed. I then tried to uninstall BE through Control Panel\Programs and Featuresto do a clean install; that too failed. I was able to uninstall LiveUpdate and SQL. At this point, I have manually deleted the BE folders in Program Files (x86), ProgramData and the Symantec folder on my D drive where I installed the product. I've also removed all the keys mentioning Backup Exec from the registry. When I try to kick off a fresh install it prompts me to do a repair or uninstall, both of which fail. Clearly the install is still finding remnants of the previous install. This is my third thread for the same problem in the same server, everytime that i make Windows Update, The job to Backup Mailbox Databases become very Slow. I have a server with 2008 R2 with backup exec 2010 R3 installed and four Hyper-V servers, CAS-HUB server, Mailbox Server, Blackberry Server and a DC server. i have two Backup job, one for Mailboxes Databases, and othet for the four Hyper-V, Mailboxes job run in the morning, and Hyper-V job run at night. Normally Mailbox job run between 5 and 6 hours, between 2600 and 3000 MB/s job rate for 600 GB of data. The other Job run between 5 and 6 hours, Between 3000 to 4000 MB/s for 900 GB of data. Everytime that i make Windows Update on the Phisical Server, the Mailbox job become very slow between 500 and 600 MB/s and it take between 19 to 20 Hours, i search in several forums, blog, tech support guides, and there isn´t solution for my case. The Jod to Backup Hyper-V dont have any problem, run normally. is OK is this occurs one or two times, but is everytime, i decided install Windows Update in the phisical server every four month, but this isn´t a correct security police in the company, my only solution when this happend is uninstall-reinstall the Backup exec Server, but i make the windows update last week-end, and i Unnistall-Reinstall 3 times and the problema continue. This time Unnistall-Reinstall dont solve my problem, and when i did this, i have to restat the server, wich i do early in the morning when nobody is using the email service. I dont know what else to do, Symantec support dont give any solution about this topic. If any body can help, the Backup is over LTO 4 tapes, Drivers are update, Backup Exec 2010 R3 full patches. Hi, When taking image backups i am getting the particular error. Even the Full Image backups doesnt work. Image Backups-Incremental Image Backups-Daily -- The job failed with the following error: Incremental\\Differential backup methods are not supported for this VM. The backup job failed, since the option 'to fall back to a full backup' was not selected. I logged a case with Symantec support and they said each VM should have an agent installed whether you need to take a GRT backup or just an image backup. Secondly they said all VMs must have hardware version7 inorder to do an incremental backup inorder to allow change block tracking feature within VMware. As a first step I am trying to push the RAWS agent to each VM. While installing agents on some VMs i am getting the following error 'install failed with error code 1603' I checked firewall settings and they are disabled. I am trying to upgrade to BE 2012 from BE 2010 v13.0.4164 and during the install verification I get the following error message: "Backup Exec Desktop and Laptop Option feature has been detected on this machine. You must either migrate the Backup Exec Desktop and Laptop Option feature to Symantec Desktop and Laptop Option or uninstall the Backup Exec Desktop and Laptop Option feature and retry the Backup Exec installation." We do not use nor have we used DLO, but it appears to have installed. I can not proceed with the BE 2012 install until I remove the 2010 DLO agent. Recently went to a different backup solution in our remote office. In our corporate office we will continue to run Backup exec. Issue is that every server that had the backup exec remote backup client on it now gives this error after uninstalling. The shadow copies of volume C: were aborted because of a failed free space computation. I have tried everything that all the normal googling gets yeah. This is happening on (5) servers. I just recently uninstalled Backup Exec 12.5 and installed a fresh copy of BE 2012. I did not run into any errors when installing. I restarted the server but I cannot login to the BE server. When I try to log in I get this error... "Could not connect to server DC01.domain.local. Check that the server name and login credentials were entered correctly and that Backup Exec services are running on the server. The BackupExec Management Service was unable to start. Data Source: BEDB Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection." When I change the name of the server from DC01.domain.local to just DC01 I get this error.... "Login failed The login credentials specified appear to be invalid. The server has rejected the client credentials." I started BEUtility.exe, changed the service account to bckupexec, restarted and it still will not allow me to log in. I made sure that user was part of the domain admins group but I still cannot log in. WTF is going on? This was a fresh install and it is not working??? The program is installed on a domain controller. There is no firewall/anti virus running. Please help, I cannot go much longer without a backup and I dont want to uninstall, reinstall BE 12.5.
