Hi, I upgrade my appliance to 3600.R3 and it was upgraded successfully. I further installed via live update SP1 andhotfix-225092. Now when I upgraded the agent on virtual machine it was upgraded and it changed its colour to blue, but it still has the arrow over it showing that it has some update, version numbr of agent is14.1.1786.1068. The problem is when it runs the backup job it stay stuck on "Discoverying resources". I have tried taking its backup as physical server and via V-center, in both the cases it had the same problem. Hi all, I am looking to upgrade the Symantec Backup Exec Appliance 3600.R2 from 2012 to 2014. I was wondering if there is snapshot/checkpoint enabling way available ? If upgrade doesn't go well or I am not happy with 2014, I could rollback to 2012 with same settings/Data and backupjobs ? I havea tapedrive attached to my appliance 3600, I was wondering if this could cause the upgradation process any problem ? Hi all, i'm playing with 1 time conversion to virtual, i want add an extra job on few physical servers to convert the last backup to a vm and i want to see the time this job takes and few options. During the conversion Backup Exec 2014 asks for the VMware Tools iso, which i downloaded according the the ESXi version we run from here: http://packages.vmware.com/tools/esx/index.html, path is completely accessibile (also because it's located in C:\ISO of the appliance) and conversion to virtual works properly. Anyway whenever i check the resulting VM generated the tools are never installed, so basically the generated vm is not ready to be fired up immediately in case something on the physical hosts goes wrong. Hello! When I back up virtual machine from VMWare vCenter, it doesn't appear in my backup and restore tab. So, backup completes successfully, but I can't restore VM, because I don't see it in backup and restore tab. I can add this VM manually, but in this case Backup Exec sees the VM as a physical box and adds the virtual server to the selection list as a physical server. Hi, I am trying to take the backup of Vcenter which has many Debian VM machines. I am wondering if someone is taking backup of Debian 6.0.10Linux server.local.lan 2.6.32-5-amd64 #1 SMP Tue May 13 16:34:35 UTC 2014 x86_64 GNU/Linuxvia symantec backup appliance 3600 R2 ? if you could answer the following questions ? Is the backup supporting GRT and have you tried restore the individual files ? The SCL says "Debian does not support snapshot capabilities" however when I take the backup VCenter takes the snapshot. Any ideas what is this snapshot capabilities are ? Is it necessary to have Root password authentication for the Linux ?I guess this password authentication is for GRT, isn't? . Actually I have disabled password authentication and only have key based authentication. Lastly, what if I only want to take the backup of VMDK file, wanting to restore the full machine and don't need the capability of restoring individual files, would I still be requiring agent installation on debian and root authentication thing ? Hello, I set up a second network to be backed up by a network other than the production network, but is failing. I have a hyper-v cluster configured with two networks, but when I launch the backup for the backup network fails, it is strange because when I see the jobs if the cluster virtual machines and let me choose the machine and complete the jobs.
