Error 8021: unable to validate the user or group
Hello Netbackup Team, I had a Master Server v8.1.2, When i Authenticate with an account of an AD i had no problems. This account is in an other AD and are in the Admin loacl group of the Master Server. I have upgrade it in v8.3.0.1, since when i log with the same account ihade the error: Error 8021: unable to validate the user or group Same thing with the 8.3 When i authenticate with the nbwebsvc account, all is ok. When i use the command line : vssat.bat authenticate -p user -d nt:<DomainAD> -b localhost:13783 the authentication failed (Unable to connect to Server) Have you an idea to help me ? Thx for help ^^
netbackup service for exchange backup and granular recovery
Hi all, The customer refuses to use the domain admin account forthe NetBackup Client Service logon for internal security stuff. Can anyone inform us what are the exact privileges and roles needed of an account that we create and we use it for theNetBackup Client Service logon in place of the domain admin in order to backup a dag exchange and to do granular recovery. Dear, I want to change a tapes from media library GUI veritas but the issue is i have a tapes in library with status Full,Active and suspended now how do eject the tapes also how do i know that this tapes will be ejected or not please share... Authentication Failed (Status 160) Netbackup 8.2 ESX 7.0U2
Hello everyone. I'm facing an issue while trying to add a standalone ESX as the attachment, but it keeps returning this error status 160: Authentication Failed. I've already added the IP both on master server's hosts and the ESX's and created an admin user on ESX, which is the one I'm trying to log and add in the attachment. Also, I checked the licensing Storage APIs on the ESX is installed. Anyone knows what can I do to check this case? I attached also a printscreen of the active and paused services on the ESX interface, in case there is something I should turn on or off in order to add the server to my netbackup. Hi, We have recently setup a Virtual Machine 8.2 Netbackup media Server to backup our datacentre's VMs using HotAdd transport mode. The media Server has a HBA card passing through to be zoned with a tape library so that its data is written directly to our LTO-8 tape library during its backup. The media Server works works very well if we cap the concurrent jobs to be only 4. This way, it could achieve very fast throughput, i.e. 150 MB/Sec with very few failed jobs. However, as soon as we increase the concurrent job numbers to be greater than 4, lots of jobs would start failing with 6/41/89 error codes. In fact, the more concurrent jobs we increase up to, the more jobs it would fail with 6/41/89. It seems to me, it only works OK (with few 6/41 errors) if we keep the concurrent jobs to be 4, but of course, the problem is, with this setting, it would take forever to finish all of our VMs backup. The Netbackup engineer and I have applied the latest VDDK (6.7.3), added the SCSI cards up to 4 (to the VM media Server itself), changed the SCSI type to be VMware Paravirtual, but none of those has solved the issue. I know there must be something I have overlooked, but not sure what I have missed... The below is the configuration of this VM media Server Netbackup version: 8.2 OS: Windows 2019 Memory: 32 GB CPU: 16 HBA: passing through to be zoned with a LTO-8 tape library SCSI cards: 4 SCSI type: VMware Paravirtual The below is our VMware environment vSphere version: 6.7 The VM media Server and all the VMs to be backed up are within the same data centre Total VMs that need to be backed up: 500 The version of ESXi hosting this VM media Server: 6.7 So, I'm wondering if someone can shed some light on this ?
