[IT Analytics] Difficulty finding/creating Policy Reports
Hi Guys! I have been using IT Analytics and really enjoying the new report and dashboard possibilites, but i am having some difficulties with creating reports that were easily available in OpsCenter. Some of them i was able to generate with the aid of the ITAnalytics Library, but for policies in specific i found no success. The one that was available was not working. Also, the ITA Default Policy Summary doesnt come up with the success %, sadly. I have a policy type success rate report, but i need one for each policy. The OpsCenter Policy Summary had it.... Here are the two main reports i really need help creating: * Top 10 Policies Using most Server Space * Policy Summary Dashboard By the way, is there any collection of reports that were available on OpsCenter for import/similar on IT Analytics? Multiple Clients Failing - VMware - status 196
Hi All, I am pretty new to Veritas Netbackup systems and I have been dealing with a status 196 on a client environment that has now been happening for a month. This issue is resulting in multiple policies failing due to a backup window timeout error. The policies failing are VMWare policies and are configured to use the vsphere intellingent policy backup method using annotations. I raised a veritas support case and the TSE based on his investigation advised to reduce the number of backup jobs from each policy running at any given time. However this atleast for now can not be done due to the client's requirement of not having backups run during business hours. Currently the backups are set to full backups and are backing up sizes raning from 4TB, 2TB, 1TB. I was wondering if any assistance or knowledge share can be done here to help troubleshoot and diagnose the issue at hand? Unable to connect to host / Backup selections
Hi guys, I'm facing an issue with the backup selections for MS-Windows type policies that I want to create on NetBackup 7.6.1 and 8.1. Getting message "Unable to connect to host". I have tried many suggested solutions in the forum without success. So I want to start a new discussion on my specific case. Can I get any help?
Changing VMware type policy from VIP to manual VM selection
I have recently changed a policy from VMware Intelligent policy queries to manual VM selection. The reasoning for this was to make use of the max jobs pr. policy limitation, which are not possible to use with VIP. I kept getting failures during the snapshot with NetBackup reporting a code 4239: Unable to find the virtual machine 24-07-2018 10:57:24 - Critical bpbrm (pid=74644) from client SERVER: FTL - VMware_freeze: Unable to locate virtual machine SERVER using VM display name This error occured even when changing to VM Hostname or a different identifier. I spent quite a bit of time trying to work out why it wasn't working, until I remembered having the same issue earlier in the year. The solution was to just create a new policy (do not copy it, as that will have the same issue), and then there are no problems. My question is, has anyone else experienced it? Its not really a massive issue, but you do risk spending time troubleshooting it as the error is a bit general. The logs weren't very useful either. Caspar
How to add job without policy to a new policy?
I inherited a Backup Exec 2010 setup. I see three jobs. all three are member of a selection list. There is a daily, weekly and monthly job. But they have no policy. I only see 5 example policies. Now I want to add a policy rule to implement grandfather-father-son principle. How do I add the three existing jobs to a new policy?Automate / Script System Recovery Policy Creation
Hi Gurus, Would like to seek for your advice regarding our current situation - deploy VSR 2016 on 3 sites with about 80 - 200 machines each. No VSR central management. Backup will be dumped to shared drive. We've gone past the installation part, but I would like to ask for your advice / suggestions how to go about automating / scripting creation of backup policies. Only a handful will have peculiar backup selection/destination/retention, so it would be extremely helpful if we can automate creation of policies for similar machines.User cannot select retention category
I would like to allow users to both select the retention category from the Outlook add-in dropdown when they're manually archiving an item as well as change an archived item's retention category once it's already been vaulted. I know there must be a policy setting I'm missing somewhere preventing my users from seeing a dropdown box when they go to archive an item. Can anyone knock me over the head with the answer?
