Backup Exec 12.5 QuickStart Edition

I am running backup exec Quickstart edition and would like to know if there is a way of protecting my data once written to disc i.e. password protect   Many thanks   Dave

    Hi,

     

    You'd be looking at encrypting your data, but because BE 12.5 Quickstart Edition is a very limited version of BE, it won't be present.

    Best bet is to look at upgrading to BE 2010 R3 at a bare minimum, or download BE 2012 with SP1a which is the latest version of BE. However, I'd recommend downloading the ISO and getting used to it as a lot of things have changed.

    Again though...the only way to get encryption is to upgrade to the full version of BE, whichever version you choose. You'd then be able to encrypt your data.
