Good Morning Every body,
I got an error when trying to Inventory and Catalog my lbrary (IBM 3573-4UL).
The job fails with this error "Incorrect function".
Some of the tapes have been inventoried and cataloged successfully but some others failed.
Has someone experienced such an issue?

You can get this message when incompatible storage media detected in robotic library occurs when an inventory is run against the robotic library.
Ensure that the right type of tape is going to the right tape drive so as to avoid the mismatch.
Ensure that Barcodes are used.

What model drives do you have in tape library? And which model tapes are causing the inventory jobs to fail?
Hi Sush, Both drive and Tape are LTO 5.
Kiran, I have IBM LTO-5 FC drives. All tapes are LTO5.
Do you have proper barcodes pasted on the medias? I mean barcodes ending with L5.

How many tapes are giving that error? Could possibly be the issue that the tapes are corrupted.
If other tapes are properly Inventorised and Catalog then the drive and BE seems to be good to me.
Just a possibility of tape being corrupt may be...

Don't know if there is a link, but my library is displaying a warning "Drive Sled miss".
You should run the IBM diagnostic utility against the tape drive. Make sure that you select the write test and you have stopped all the BE services beforehand.
You mentioned that you are using new tapes. Have you labeled the tapes before you inventory them?

No, I didn't label them from Backup Exec. As the tapes have already bar codes, is it necessary to label them?
