Backup Exec Crashes when backing up Samba share

I've got a new Linux server that we just had implemented for a piece of software we are using. I have no Linux experience so the company that I purchased the hardware/software from created a Samba share for the information that I would like to backup on a daily basis.

The problem is when I try and add this share to my backup routine either through graphical interface or text interface Backup Exec crashes and disconnects. I can't restart Backup Exex or get it to work again until I restart the server. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and point me in the direction to get this resolved?
