Backup Exec Device & Media Service cannot be started.

The service cannot be started with the error message
"Error 1065: The database specified does not exist"

so I tried fix this problem with "Veritas Technical Service" but not helped.

I tried to use MDAC2.8 RTM and run cc.exe (component checker)
There is one mismatch file "SQLSRV32.DLL" but I don't know how to fix it and cannot sure that is concerned with the problem.

also I tried to recover the Database with BEUtility but Backup Exec Device & Media Service is not running currently so I won't be helped.

If you have any advice for this. I wil appreciate it.

Thank you.

  • Hello,

    Perform the recover database.

How to create a new SQL database in Backup Exec 9.x and 10.0 when the original database is corrupt and cannot be repaired
    http://support.veritas.com/docs/254014

Note: All media sets, backup-to-disk folders, and other settings will have to be created or configured again.

Since the SQL database is new, Backup Exec logon accounts will have to be recreated.
