Backup/Restore Backup Exec 2010

Hi Everyone,

We busy doing migrations from Backup Exec 2010 to 2015, but before we switch off the old servers I would like to backup 2010 should we need to roll back for what ever reason.

I have been looking at the process for backing up and restoring a BE2010 instance and there seems to be a few different procedures, for example recovering from bedb.bak or the bedb_dat.mdf, or copy and pasting the Data, Catalog and IDF Directories, but it all seems quite combersome and I have yet to have a 100% success without it still referring it to the old server.

What is everyones opinion on this to have the best and simplist way to do this? Im hoping that if I were to restore it maintains a clean almost "original" config, without it still referring to the old server. 

I am busy testing this in the lab environment.
