backups taking abnormally long time

hi,

All of a sudden with no major changes to the system, our backups are taking about twice the normal amount of time to complete.

Areas that take longer include the exchange databases and the data drives.

Any suggestions? I've run diagnostics on the drive and it reports fine.

  • Hello,

    - Are you backing up to a tape or a disk?
    - Are these local backups?
    - Is there high network activity during backup window?
    - Is it taking longer during Exchange mailbox backups?
    - Is Antivirus running on the server which is being backed up?
