Cannot recreate deduplication storage folder

After som initil trobule we decided to "start over" and deleted the deduplication storage folder 1 in order to recreate it, we even formatted the iscsi disk target.
Now we cant recreate deduplication storage folder, nomatter what name it pops up with error saying "a deduplication storage folder with that name already exists"

    ok, finally after having Tech from Symantec online for 3 hours we managed to get this up and running.

    It took some playing around with beutil, where the database was recreated from scratch (i choose to keep the database as i reinstalled)

    initially that made small difference since another slightly different error message came up, trying to create dedup folder.
    After waiting 45 minutes for 3. level supporter, when he finally came onto the server, everything worked, and we had'nt changed a bit since 2.level gave up and ran a begather-.. so either the begatjer process changed something, or the server fixed itself... spooky.

    my belief is that the database flush fixed it. and that it needed time for some strange reason to work.

    I have tried rebooting the server 2 times, and the original folder is definately gone, the iscsi device has been formatted.

    I have tried searching for pdde-config.log without luck.

    Was this a shared folder, shared between multiple media servers or was it on just one media server. If on multiple media servers, you would have to start the services on all media servers.

    No dedicated to one mediaserver (only have one) and iscisi target is only configured on this server

    Maybe you have tried before, but try disconnecting the target from the server and re-attaching it using the iscsi initiator.
    Another thing you could do is uninstall PDDO and reinstall it, if at all thats possible.

    how do i uninstall pddo ?

    I dont think re attaching iscsi makes any difference, i have tried creating folder on c drive as well, and the iscsi has been formatted

    1) Go to Tools->Install Options and License keys on the Media server.
    2) Uncheck the option for Deduplication Option. Run the Install wizard to completion.
    3) Go to Tools->Install Options and License keys on the Media server, select the deduplication option and run the wizard to completion.

    have tried removing and reinstalling the option now, no luck. same error... :(

    Did it uninstall properly? Make sure when you go to Help-> About, Deduplication Option should not be installed after you have uninstalled it.
