Hello, i'm have symantec backup exec 2014. In my policy backup sets must expired through 2 week.

Now status on backup sets is expired, but it not deletes automatically. What the problem?

  • Is BE 2014 updated with SP1 ? If not, pls download SP1 from this link - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH216178

Do ensure 'Allow Backup Exec to delete all expired backup sets' option is enabled under Configuration & Settings - Backup Exec settings.

If the above doesn't help and if there are no dependent backup sets either, would recommend to log a formal support case.

  • Are these expired backup sets on USB disks? If so, leave the USB disks online for at least 4 hours
  • Only the incremental sets not deleted. Full backup sets already delete automatically. You are right, i have else incremental backup sets, therefore it not deleted, the next incremental depend on it. Thank you.
