  • Hi Faud,

     make sure the media server is fully updated through running and applying all the Live Updates available
    also if this error still occurs try the solutions listed here:

  • You mentioned that you updated the new password in the BE services. Did you update in the system logon account as well ?

    Also, try recreating the selection list / backup job.

  • Also edit the selections in the job and then instead of using the tree view, use the extra tab that shows you the text view (might be called Details)  - this might list the specific Exchange resources that the job has configured you might find that one is listed there that is not visible in the tree view of the selection list and either no longer exists or is dismounted/offline. If you find something like this, then correct your selection list.

  • HI all,

    thanks for the replies , i found the issue, the account we used for the backup exec was hidden in the global address list, after i enabled that account in GAL backup finished successfully,

    But i have another issue also while i run the Symantec Help tool in my backup exec server i got one error saying that;

    "the first 5 characters of user administrator are not unique in the active dirctory"

    could you please help in this issue?

  • Backup Exec requires the Backup Exec mailbox name used has a unique name within the organization.

    Use this How To for steps to check that the mailbox name is unique. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH24691
