Final error: 0xe0008703 access is denied

Hi Everyone,

I'm having a bit of a problem. I'm trying to backup all our user data that is on a NAS device on our network. When I set the job up and test the credentials it passes, but the when I run the test it fails saying access is denied. The error codes I'm seeing are check status: Error: e0008488 and Final error: 0xe0008703. Any help would be apprectaited.

Here is our system information:

-running backup exec 2010 64 bit

-Windows Server 2003 r2 64 bit

Thank you,

John

  • To be under Symantec's license terms you have to buy remote agent license tp backup NAS shares. Anyway you will not be able remote agent on it. Install the remote agent serial number in the media server and proceed with backups.

After that also you may get a warning as remote agent not installed and the job may be listed under failed.

  • Are you running a test jjob?

Some times test run results defer from original. try running the job and check..

  • Thanks for the Reply,

Yes I was running a test job. I just started the job and about 2 minutes in it gave me an authentication error. The account that I'm using is a Domain Admin.

  • OK I tried that now I have a new error that did not appear before. its a Error Code e0000f047 Remote Agent not licenced.  Its a NetApp divice if it makes any difference.

    Thankd

  • Thanks that seemed to work..Its not failing anymore for that reason now Im getting a tape read/ write error. I dont think it has anything to do with the software.

  • Yes.. Clean the tape drive. If the issue remains after that also, verify the tape drive functionality with vendor specific diagnostic tools. If any error found report it to OEM and ask for resolution/replacement. Also as your issue in this thread resolved please mark the solution.
