What means gateway server for BE,and how it to backup?
- Hi Yes you would need a hyperv agent license to backup virtual machine on hyperv server. Thanks
What means gateway server for BE,and how it to backup?
Hi
Can you please give more details of what exactly you are trying to do as in backup exec there is no term called Gateway server so may you need to share more light from what refernce you are using this term gateway server
Thanks
Are you refering to backup of Threat Management Gateway (TMG) server?
From which article/document did you see gateway server for BE? There is no such thing as far as I know.
Gateway is/was a Server and PC manufacturer, are you asking about BE running on a "Gateway" manufactured server?
Also if your media server is also acting as a software router then I suppose it could be called a "Gateway Server" for at least one of the networks it routes
Like others have stated "Gateway Server" itself is not a Backup Exec specific term
Under the meaning gateway the customer means FreeBSD working on a virtual machine hyper-v )So to backup it need Symantec Backup Exec Agent for VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V?And associated issues BE 2012 support Synology DX1211 and NDMP option need here?
In 11 version was support this ,but in 12 compability list cant find Synology DX1211 (
Hi
I don't see it supported in version 11d too please check the HCL for 11d
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH46703
Moreover when you backup CIFS share of NAS there is no agent you use to backup this so anyways this is not supported configuration though Symantec gives best efforts help on such configuration backup
Thanks
Need to backup not CIFS,FreeBSD working on a virtual machine hyper-v,and wsus?No need any agents or optionts?
And if Synology DX1211 is out of compability list of be2012,so there no support by the be?
Hi
If you are going to backup virtual machine on hyperv you need virtual agent license for BE 2012 , Free BSD on virtual machine please check if that version is listed in SCL for BE 2012 if it is listed then your virtual machine backup and restore on hyperv would be supported esle not.
