- Ajit_KulkarniLevel 6Hello,
Do you mean to say that the drive HP DA72 is a stand alone drive ?
Regarding the error that you are getting :
Perform these Steps:
1) Turn the device off.
2) Turn the server off.
3) Turn the device on fist.
4) Turn the server on next.
5) Install the latest veritas driver from following link:
VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 - Device Driver Installer (20041101) - Includes Tape Driver Release (20041006) and Robotic Library Release (45) (Intel Only)

Note:Make sure Removable storage services is stopped. SCSI ID 0,1 and 6 should be avoided as they are reserved IDs.
Note:Also make sure Tape Drive is not connected to RAID Controller. It should be on separate SCSI drive.
Always Inventory the tape(s) before running the backup.
Hope this helps you.
Regards

I just noticed that there is a SP 3 out for 9.1. I am going to install it to see if that solves my issue. I will then install the driver file (from your link if sp3 does not work). I will keep you posted.
- priya_khireLevel 6Hello,
Is your device detected in the Windows device manager?
Have you installed SP3 from the following link?
VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 for Windows Servers revision 4691 - Service Pack 3

Do update us if the problem persists still.

Regards. - Robb_DonaldsonLevel 3Installed 9.1 SP3 - still same problem - doing the device driver install from the previous (above) link. Will not know if work until reboot later. Will post results.
- padmaja_rajopadLevel 6Hi,
Could you please update us whether the issue is resolved?

This driver install spawned another issue in which I had to stop the Removable Storage Service (event 2001 on rasctrs and perflib 1008) and had to set it to manual. It ground the server to a halt while is spammed the event viewer. That is way it took me longer to reply.
- Renuka_-Level 6Hello,
Please check if the device is present in the hardware compatibility list below. If not please install the OEM drivers.

It seems to be doing backups but I am unable to do an Inventory on any tapes.
