Known Limitations of Trial Version

Greetings,

A friend of mine wants to buy the BE, but he want to try it in his live production environment with Tape Drive,

What are the Limitations of Backup Exec 2014 TRIAL verison ?  any feature disable in trial?

    The Trial version uses the same installation files as the full version. It is enabled in Trial (evaluation mode) if you do not add licenses for the core product (or any agents and options that you trial).

     

    This BE 2012 technote contains details of what can and what cannot be used in trial mode and it will be the same limitations in BE 2014

    You need to run through the Installation Wizard, but off the top of my head, I believe it is features like ESO which might not be available.

    For the most part, if he wants to do a normal test using a tape library and a few agents/servers, then you run the installation, select what you want (things you can't select are greyed out!) and proceed to test.

    I don't see the other agents like Lotus Domino, Active Directory, Mysql, Oracle etc in the trial version.
    As showed in teh image below ...

    How can I install trial agents?

    Agent for Application and Database includes below options.

    • Agent for Applications and Databases:
      • Agent for Enterprise Vault
      • Agent for Lotus Domino
      • Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server
      • Agent for Microsoft SharePoint
      • Agent for Microsoft SQL Server
      • Agent for Oracle Servers
      • Agent for Microsoft Active Directory
