LTO 6 Tape Drive Compatibility

Hi, My company will shortly be purchasing an LTO 6 Tape drive (manufacturer and model yet to be confirmed). We are running Backup Exec 2010 R3 and I need confirmation that the Symantec Tape Drivers...

    BE 2012 has some LTO6 drives listed http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH175582 (refer Hardware Compatibility List)

    BE 2010 doesnt (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH137050)

Thankyou. So essentially we would have to upgrade to Backup Exec 2012 in order to be able to upgrade our Media hardware?
