Physical Volume Library Drive not available - Not enough statistical Information

I formatted a new disk and added that disk to the backup exec 2012 storage

Now the backup disk gives me every time the message :

Not enough statistical information is available

State of disk = Online

When a job is running and wants to backup to that disk:

Error:

Final error: 0xe000810c - Physical Volume Library Drive not available.
Final error category: Backup Device Errors

What can I do? I reformatted the disk, re-added the disk....

  • Problem has been resolved. It cleared up once I deleted the drive, had it unseated/reseated physically, formatted it, and re-configured in BE.

  • 1. Did you recreate the B2D folder in BE. If not, you might want to try that as BE has a few config files once the B2D is setup.

    2. Run the B2D test tool to see if there are any errors.

  • Thanks for your reply.

I don't understand what you mean with recreate the B2D folder.. Steps I did:

    1. Deleted the disk in BE

    2. Formatted the disk in windows

    3. Configured storage device in BE

    4. BE Created two folders on that disk: - BEControl and BEData

--> But there is always that message: not enough statistical information....

I tried it also with an other HD --> always the same message and error

Now I executed the B2D test tool:

  • What type of disk are you using?  Have you ran an inventory on it?

  • I am also having this exact same issue.

I also ran b2dtest.exe, and received these results:

  • 1. Run a few backups to that folder.

    2. Ensure that you don't have any other data sitting on the drive letter that has the B2D fodler on.

  • The only folder on that drive is the BEData folder that was created when I configured the drive with BE.

This drive is one of five external usb hard drives in a pool I created for offsite duplicate rotation. It's the only drive online of  the five, which has worked for over a year so far. This problem crept up after I ran the most recent hotfix for BE via LiveUpdate.

Currently, it's not running the manual backup job. It's just sitting there counting up the clock with the status:Device Paused. I checked the drive, and it is not showing paused. Ideas?
