SDR BE 2014

I am using BE 2014 and was wondering if it is necessary to use SDR to do full system recovery of Windows clients or is there an alternate way

    SDR will give you a full restore of the server in question. However, if you have a virtual environment, you can get away with using the respective virtualisation agent (VMware/Hyper-V) and do full VM backups.

    The other way is simply on file-level by backing up data, installation files and System State for instance, and anything else on deemed necessary to recover an application like Exchange for example.
