    ...are you talking about using the SAN SSO version for this?

    If so, you need a full version of BE installed on BOTH cluster nodes running SQL. Then the ESO license etc.

    we have to plan backup sql clustred server useing lan free back option how meny license for this ..

    That TN has nothing to do with the OP's question...

    Why do backups and restores use the RJ45 connection to send and receive communication during jobs instead of using the Fiber Channel card

    I have provided a KB article which mentions 2 methods for lan-free backups. Based on the method he chooses, he needs appropriate license.

    Pls explain how this TN has nothing to do with the OP's question.

    @ CraigV - IF you prefer we can carry this discussion in private, rather you marking down my comments which I don't think are appropriate nor have a valid reason to do so.

    I would be happy to explain to you as to how the above TN is relevant to the OP's query & secondly, not the same as your earlier response.

    You can use your existing SAN, but your cluster nodes MUST be attached to the SAN too, or they will simply use the LAN. No need to purchase any additional hardware if this already exists.
