V-79-57344-33928 - Access denied - unable to restore directory

Dear Sir.

    I have an Windows 2003 DC with Exchange 2003 STD.

I want to restore mail box but my job is failed.

Final error : 0xe0008488- Access is denied.

Final error category : Security Error.

I have an Exchange User account exchsrv that is a member of all the administrator accounts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Yes, I redirect restore from old mailbox to new mailbox by the following steps.

    1. Create new user account and new mailbox.

    2. Redirect restore to new mailbox. (It's can redirect restore.)

    3. Rename old user account and mailbox to other account.

    4. Rename new account and mailbox to old account.

    It's worked, Thank you for your sugguestion.

  • Please check the account that you are using to restore. The account you are using should be unique(first five character should be unique), should be unhidden from GAL, should have active mailbox, should be domain admin, Should have exchange organization rights.
