Veritas SDK / interface for programmatic access/config

Is there any Veritas SDK / API for programmatically accessing / configuring Veritas.. other than Veritas UI or command line.

We are looking to do the following on our Veritas cluster servers after our Systems installers finish their job of creating the clusters and put it on the network.

1. Reading and verifying the cluster is configured as per company standards.

2. Allowing our UI on a central machine to be used to change any configuration of networked veritas servers.

3. Checking statuses of the clusters, the disks etc.,

What are the options Veritas has for us to be able to do the above.

Any help on the above questions is appreciated.

  • Hi, You can try checking VOM (Veritas Operations Manager) and it might fit your needs. You can take a look at the following URL for quick overview of VOM features: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/new-release-veritas-operations-manager-vom-30

  • Hi Harish,

Other than requirement #1 that you have listed, VOM might be a good tool for you.

Workaround for #1: We have a page that lists all attributes of a cluster. You could open that page for 2 clusters in different windows/tabs and compare the attributes that way.

You can download VOM at http://go.symantec.com/vom

  • Thanks for your replies.

For the past few weeks I have been trying to find options for this.. except command line I have not had much programmatic possibilities.

VOM requires user-action with an UI... I want to be able to programmatically interface with veritas for basic things.

I appreciate information on any other possibilities available now ...or possibly coming in future from veritas... as API / Service / SDK.
