Archived mailbox deleted

Dear,

One of the user enabled for archiving left the company and his account was deleted and mailbox was disabled. The same user rejoined after 1 month and new AD account has been created for him and his old mailbox has been re-associated from the disconnectetd mailbox to his new AD account.

In EV archive shows associated with deleted account, hence to renable him again and provide accees to his old archives should I follow the below steps.

Disabled archiving throgh SQL.

Re-enable the archiving again on the mailbox and select the old existing archive while re-enabling.

  • Pretty sure you just need to do the second step. Have you tried it?

  • Hi Shaikh,

Step mentioned in Below TN should help you

How to link an old Enterprise Vault (EV) archive to a new mailbox (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH65019)

    Regards
    EV-C

  • Agree with Rob, if you just re-enable the user from Vault Admin console, you should be able to associate this user with existing archive. That's it.

  • Hi Shaikh,

Question ... is the mailbox disabled for archiving? You mentioned that his account was deleted and mailbox was disabled .. if the mailbox was disabled for archiving in EV, you just need to re-enable it and select the old archive. That should be enough.

    I hope this helps.

  • Thanks Rob,

Mailbox got re-enabled automaticcaly to it's associated archive after running the provisioning task.
