Delete Index Administration Task - error

Hello all,

After having moved indexes from server A to server B, we now need to remove server A from the EV Console. To do this, we need to delete the Index Administration task, to be able to delete the Taskcontroller service.

When deleting the task, the following error is logged:

"task cannot be deleted because there are indexing operations associated with this task. Use the 'Monitoring Indexing Tasks' dialog to delete the indexing operations and then try again"

The Monitor Indexing Tasks is empty...

Does anyone know where to look to see the 'associations'?

  • You could try SQL, in the Directory DB check the table called: IndexingSubTaskGroup.  There is also the IndexingSubTask table.

Perhaps there are so old Tasks hanging around.

      Hi Tony,

Thanks. I did not see anything there, and asked our support team to log a case to Veritas.

Veritas support assisted in removing the task, so we're good now. Thanks!
