how about using the EV 11 addin?

The issue in the TECH note would have prevented the installer completing sucessfully - it would have rolled back out of the install.
As you have the add-in listed in Outlook this is likley to be a different problem.
I assume that you have tried to re-enable the EV add-in using the "Manage: COM Add-ins" Go button in the Outlook Add-ins options dialog?

I have the same problem 10.0.0.4 CHF3 Outlook add-in installed but is inactive in Outlook. Cannot be started. Error in eventlog (in Norwegian I'm afraid...):

I'm not able to use the EV11 client. The EV version is 9 unfortunately, so 10 is the latest I can go.

if you refer back to the technote it says that the update will be included in the EV 11 release. the solution remains to use the EV 11 client and has been confirmed by the other poster.
